My car needed an oil change and was right at 30k miles, so I started getting quotes for 30k maintenance service. I came across B&W Service Center in a Valpack mailer that advertised the 30k service at only $270, which was better than any quotes I had so far. After a quick check on yelp and a phone call to confirm the price with my vehicle 2006 Acura TL, I decided to try them out. I'm happy I did as their customer service is great, and they're very conveniently located next to a 12 bus stop allowing me to drop off the car and get tofrom work easily.

The 1986 Nissan truck had developed a unexpected and possibly dangerous habit of the engine dying out. Nothing like going down the freeway and your engine dies to convince you that repairs are needed urgently.Back to B &W goes the truck. It needs a new distributor I'm told. OK. A new one is put in and away I go. Except the engine dies about 15 minutes later. Uh oh. The shop is closed, so I wait about 5 minutes and take it back to the shop the next day. Bill and his crew work to figure out what's wrong with it. Finally, it's decided that a new fuel pump is needed. To B & W's credit, I wasn't charged for the labor for this second round of repairs, just parts. So I'm hopeful that the truck will be running smoothly and safely now.

I'm definitely a fan of independent auto shops, especially when the owners themselves provide the excellent and friendly customer service, such as B&W brake! Originally, I went to Ford for an inspection of my Ford Escape SUV and it turned out my car needed not only new brake pads, but also rotors. When Ford told me it would be $650 to replace, I was hesitant and asked around for a referral, which led me to B&W. Within minutes, B&W quoted me approximately $200 less than Ford did.B&W provided same day walk-in service and there were no surprises with the quoted price. After a couple weeks I noticed a noise that occurred only when getting off the freeway. So we brought the car in to B&W and Bill, the B in B&W, patiently listened to our brake concerns the noise and provided a thorough diagnostic as to what could be causing this. In short, B&W completely stood behind their work and completely replaced the brakes and rotors under warranty.

This place is great. I took my Toyota Corolla here for my 60,000 mile service in early 2008. There were no major problems that needed fixing and the car was fine. Then in May of 2009, I started smelling a burning smell in the car. I brought it back to B&W and Bill had it checked out for me. The mechanic spent over 2 hours checking everything and made a couple adjustments that he hoped would solve the problem smell. Bill noted that they had done the 60,000 mile service for me and told me that there would be no charge for fixing my problem smell. Amazing! Sure enough, the burning smell is now gone. Thanks Bill!

B&W is a first class operation. They are fair, honest and do high quality work.About two months ago I brought in my girlfriend's '98 Honda Passport because the key was stuck in the ignition. This is a common issue for the Passport model and is due to the ignition being locked because the shift lever behaves as if the gear isn't in 'Park', when it is. This can happen because of a loose cable andor a missing spring. During my first visit, the B&W team came up with an innovative way to solve the problem with no help from the official Honda dealership. The innovative approach: using a spring from a fountain pen to force the shift lever to recognize the gear is in 'Park' when the car is parked. Kudos for the MacGyver-esque approach.For this level of service, I was already impressed with B&W. When the same issue arose last night, I knew that I had to bring the car back to B&W. Once again, they didn't receive help from the Honda dealership. But they went online and figured out that Honda put out a repair procedure in 2001 for this issue and followed these instructions. When I came to pick up the car today they didn't even charge me for labor! What a nice gesture.It's safe to say that B&W has made a loyal customer of me. Brandy, Bill and the rest of the B&W team are some of the most considerate and thorough people that I have ever done business with. I strongly suggest B&W. Great job!

After being ripped off by Joe on 19th & Judah, we were recommended by a co-worker to try B&W. She had nothing but great things to say about them, and now I know why. To be honest, I don't know why I haven't reviewed them before as we have been going to them for awhile now. Especially this past month. I feel like we are part of their family, seeing as how we have spent $1400 for 2 visits in the last 3 weeks. We are trying to pass smog and we can't! We took it in about 3 weeks ago for a tune up thought this would fix the problem, we still didn't pass. We needed a tune up regardless so we weren't pissed for spending the money. Plus he fixed some other things that were wrong. We returned about 2 weeks ago and they fixed the problem having to do with the check engine light. However there was another problem with the trucks computer that wasn't showing up. Bill said our check engine light was off but right when they were going to return it to us, it turned back on...Ouch! Bill was so sweet in saying that if it is still on over the weekend to bring it back and he wouldn't charge us to look at it again. Well I am sure you can guess we were back in last Tuesday. They found the original problem and fixed it. They didn't charge us for labor, just the part which helped us financially. I get a good feeling from them, and it's weird to read the negative comments. Its so hard to tell in this industry who is honest and who isn't. So far they have been super cool with us they should be since they are taking our money, and I hope that others have a good experience. Let's just hope that we pass smog tomorrow. My review might change depending on the outcome ;

These guys are great. They are honest and won't do work that doesn't need to be done. I brought my car in recently and they figured out what I was concerned about but said it wasn't anything unsafe and could wait until my next big check-up. I trust these guys.

I love these guys. Over the past 3 years, I've bought 3 cars there to get them serviced regularly. Bill and his bro are personable and have great prices. I used to have my ex-wife drop the car off and they would go out of their way to endure she knew exactly what was going on.They do everything. Clutches, brakes, exhaust, timing belts, fluids....whatever. Although they don't specialize it, Bill even agreed to help me with a lift for my Jeep. C'mon!!

This place is totally honest and reliable-and I didn't think this was possible with car mechanics. The office is organized and they are always completely upfront about charges and necessities. Location is totally convenient for me, I can drop it off in afternoon and pick it up a few hours later. I have never been unhappy with them or felt I was being ripped off, they've serviced 2 different cars of mine and I've been a customer for over 7 years. I highly recommend
